CONDITION CLASSIFICATION

Selling machinery, equipment, and parts entails several verification requirements of the products offered. Any business with integrity will verify details and requirements. Our main purpose at Mapartex is to offer customers a clear picture of what they are getting and the options to adjust the cost/value ratio of their purchase or investment so everyone is pleased! This picture not only portrays how the product looks and performs at the time of purchase but also the expected productive lifetime left and associated costs.

This is an important factor often ignored by sellers and buyers alike.

Why Classify Equipment and Machinery Conditions?...

Transparency

After many years in this business, we implemented and perfected our Classification of Conditions of the Machinery, Equipment, and Parts we offer. Our system goes beyond the commonly demanded requirements from many customers and offered by most providers. We have three levels or classes of Used Equipment, Machinery, and even many parts (Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3). Each Class has different levels of evaluation, inspections, and certifications that will determine its safety, productivity, purchase cost, and long-term value.

Visual and cosmetic appearance is an attractive factor about which we always warn our customers. When we buy equipment and machinery, we pay special attention to recently painted sections or parts. It is a common practice everywhere to repaint sections or parts of equipment to hide potential and sometimes unsafe damage.

Another frequent question from our new customers is the about the manufacturing year of the equipment assuming that the newer the equipment, the better the condition. Based on having performed so many inspections, our experience tells us that the manufacturing year could be a factor for the condition of the equipment as long as it is supported by a good maintenance history record. Otherwise it will be irrelevant. We have rebuilt equipment from the 1990's to a comparable new condition. Likewise we have found few years old equipment with water in the hydraulic system with almost undetectable corrosion in many components resulting in many thousands of dollars of required repairs.

In addition to these observations and inspections, we offer as optional the most sophisticated technical procedures upon request from customers like ultrasonic crack detection, major bearings noise and vibration detection, etc. We are also able to perform inspections required by the Governments or companies where the product will be shipped to.

Condition Classification Upgrade

Many of our customers with technical support resources purchase equipment and machinery at the lowest price (Class 3) and without much additional investment, they get their equipment upgraded to a Class 2 or even Class 1 with longer productive lifetime, lower downtime, and lower future repair cost. Smart move!

We consider the following parameters as the most important factors to evaluate, classify, and recommend the different kind of used (not new from the manufacturer) machinery, equipment, and some parts we offer. Each parameter carries a Consideration Factor which depends on our own records of the history of the product as well as professional inspections according to regulations, technical, and engineering analysis.
